To The Blue Man On The Red Planet

Deep through a billion eons
Your reeling consciousness spun
A lone being on the red planet
Fourth from the dying sun
Wandering in self imposed exile
A million galaxies far from home

A single, solitary being
Silently riding the crest of the swirling winds
A man cosmically aware
Opening doors of time and space
You feel no pain
Only the strangely pleasant indifference

You tread the long dead surface
And watch the shifting pink sand
Out into the darkness you spin
As you probe in star studded blackness
Searching for what lies beyond the farthest star
What lies beyond the brink of time itself

I strut the milky way
Dropping stars behind as I step
I call out to the cosmos
To pick up on my words
And turn them into stardust
So they could reach you every night

Endless cascades of washing pain.
Don’t you ever feel the same way?
Broken down by the small grinders of our world
Four sides that surround us
Crushing and silencing us
I wanna be more, I wanna be on the outside with you

Meet me on the edge of dreams
When the comets collide
Sending ripples in space
Melting in a spinning flood
Swirling down to the shore
Of our own cosmic sea

We’ll taste the froth
Of interconnected singularity
In quantum spacetime infinity
We’ll bounce off together
Like the original photons
Released at first light
Our own big bang
Illuminating the universe
with a new beginning

Mother’s Daughter

Some days we are complete contradictions
Other days  we are indistinguishable
We share a bond not simple enough
To be understood by those who haven’t felt the same

I’m just another her and she’s just another me
It is hard to hold a mirror to myself some days
So I can only guess which parts of her are sewn into my veins
But I am proud of all the threads

I carry in my heart a portrait of her beautiful face
inside of me, her grit and fervour, her recklessness
She’s a woman, both a storm and a lighthouse
She has eyes that peer struggle with grace

The only thing I know with complete certainty
Is that as long as she exists
I will never be in this world unloved
And in pain, her tears will always reach me first

To me there’s no prestige bigger
Than to be known as her descendant
So if they ever see her in the way I smile
I shall have lived my life

Hope

Brave is the one who is hopeful
Amidst despair and injustice
Courage is the week who stands his ground
Like a burning flame that never goes out

Survival is never delicate
And the endurance one needs
cannot be easily attained
Every time they take us down
Hope will nurse us back to life
And we will be reborn.

Destined to inherit the meek
Yet no storm can shake our still
Even nature is bound to bend
To the eyes carrying hope in them

There are ones who conform
Engulfed in fear to their very core
The ones writing their tragedies
Disguising their cowardice in every story
And when they call you a madman
And say it’s foolish to hope
Tell the cowards you’d rather be a fool
Than a man with no compass of his own

So I want you to hope like you breath
And In the face of cowardice flaunt the hope
That’s woven deep within your soul
I urge you to dare
And never to dehydrate your sense of hope
Till every last atom of you disintegrates
And continues to instil hope
In the ones who remain

I urge you to dare and never to dehydrate your sense of hope.

Smoke You Out

Artwork Title – Born From The Ashes.

Look at you, the saddest dweller on the coast
It’s no surprise that of the slightest things you boast
With the faintest of heart and your frail principles
No longer does the moon desire to listen to your piteous fables.

Every time you love, it goes in vain,
And yet you deliberately seek pain;
Thinking it will make you significant,
So you can finally mock the virtuous saint.

Rightly cursed to never be the chosen one
Yet you wish you had the knack to reach the sun
But with your unfitting arrogance, you fall back down to earth
You’re just a puny earthling who overestimates his worth.

You tremble at the thought of vulnerability
For someone so petty you wouldn’t know how to be gritty
It shakes every inch of your soul
A lifeless stone that none can console.

Torn at the seams like an abandoned book
The one nobody finds befitting to spare a look
There’s no aid for your broken dream
Of trying to be a light’s beam.

You live in an infinite loop of your emptiness,
And for that, you blame somebody else’s greatness
You envy the moon that illuminates the night sky;
It is only yourself that you deify.

You have a manner of masking your malevolence with virtues,
After all, you’re a spineless man, who is destined to lose
And when you conceal your undesirability with naivety
I see you’re nothing but spiteful of my omniety.

Yet it is me you come to and implore
When you’re washed out on the shore
You fear the day you will be buried in the crust
Weep that one day you will turn to dust.

Feeble human, you know nothing of creation
Yet you make reckless attempts at destruction
My empire knows of your corrupt conscience
The land I stand upon sees no blood nor violence.

It is my reign where peace prevails
I’m the supreme that everyone hails
Foolish of you to think you can set me ablaze
I will smoke you out in the fire you raise.

Empathy

Artwork Tittle – Empath Mermaid And The Voyager. (Inspired by Mariners Apartment Complex-Lana Del Rey.)

I dreamt the other day. I dreamt of a world devoid of pain, people walking lightly on the grass beneath their feet, and nature requiting by casting its soft caressing breezes our way.

I realise it is rather naive to think of a world devoid of pain. No amount of love and hope we muster can transform the world alone.

Empathy is the ultimate healing we need.

Like a physical wound needs a band-aid, an emotional wound needs empathy. Empathy dives deep into a person’s wound, decoding it. Understanding from your own experience/trying to understand another’s circumstances is the first step to being an empath.  Many of us are empaths or at least capable of empathising. However, most of us don’t realise it because tragically it’s not a skill we were/are  taught in schools.

We all get by with a little help from each other.

Empathy is a superpower and even that is an understatement. Empathising with a person enhances a person’s resilience. You cannot take away a person’s pain neither do you have to dwell on it but you can help a person’s ability to cope with it.  (This isn’t by any means a medical advice.)

Empathy doesn’t just include compassion towards others but compassion towards the self as well.

Be a friend to yourself. Be self aware, embrace yourself as a whole, work on self improvement, and accept things beyond your control. Sometimes, being an empath can feel overwhelming. Practicing empathy doesn’t mean you always have to be kind, patient, and ideal. Humans have a range of emotions. But learning to guide them is one of our greatest virtue. It’s easy to be deluded about the whats and the hows of empathy when being taught how to live as an empath is nearly non-existent in the society. It’s a skill that most of us can acquire and a skill that can be amplified.

If we teach children empathy as religiously as we indoctrinate them maybe then we can dream of a better world. Fostering empathy will bring the change we are all desperately in need of and hopefully the generation of empaths will revolutionise the world into a better one.
